This Pescadero log home on a horse ranch hidden among redwood trees features many Western-style haute couture elements, but it all started with a barn.
The project unfolded over six years, as Jona was initially contacted by the homeowner to improve the barn layout and help select some home furnishings. Gradually, she uncovered the home’s true essence.
The home previously had a haphazard design, but Jona pulled it all together as one cohesive look: a rustic log home with natural elements and luxe finishes that tied into the beautiful surroundings. The theme? A high-end Bonanza feel with details such as leather-and-fringed furniture pieces, copper fixtures, reclaimed juniper logs, natural limestone, and river rock.
In the spa bath addition, which has direct access from the outside (perfect for entering the home after a day on the ranch), a steam shower and vanity with a 50,000-year-old fish fossil stone countertop transform the space into a spa retreat. Other unique details such as custom cabinets with metal studs and a kitchen tabletop made of recycled barn wood make this home a stunning mix of natural and man-made elements.
